Erie County Council proudly represents the more than 250,000 citizens of Erie County, Pennsylvania, from the county seat of Erie, PA.
Its governing body consists of seven publicly elected council members, each representing one of seven council districts dispersed throughout Erie County.
Council also serves as the County Board of Elections, supervisory to the Erie County Human Relations Commission, and the Board of Trustees for Pleasant Ridge Manor (the county's skilled nursing home facility).

Erie County Council
Erie County Council is the legislative branch of Erie County government, headquartered in Erie, PA. It is responsible for:
- Passing the county budget ($576.5 million in 2024)
- Serving as a liaison between County Departments or Authorities and the public.
- Overseeing Elections and Voter Registration
- Supervising the Erie County Human Relations Commission
- Governance of Pleasant Ridge Manor, the Erie County-owned skilled nursing facility.
Elections and Voter Registration
The Bureau of Elections and Voter Registration administers elections and all related activities for the County of Erie in compliance with Federal and State statutes. It is committed to excellent service, voter empowerment and education, and conducting elections with a high standard of ethical practices.
Human Relations Commission
The Erie County Human Relations Commission works to eliminate discrimiation in employment, housing, and public accommodations. The Commission investigates claims of unlawful discrimination to ensure equal opportunities for all persons.
